Alpha Blondy (born Alphonso Albert Blondy) is a reggae singer and songwriter from Côte d'Ivoire. Born in 1956 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, Blondy began his music career in the 1970s, performing in various bands and recording his debut album "On the Way" in 1977.
