Tools developed by the WildStar modding community allow users to extract 3D models, textures, and audio directly from the 16042 data archives. This has allowed artists to preserve WildStar assets for machinima, 3D printing, and personal design portfolios.

Official sources for the client have long been deactivated, so players must turn to community-maintained archives.

Communication is event-driven. The client maintains a table of function handlers mapped to specific opcodes.
