Operating System:
Windows Script Host is entirely dependent on (32 bits) Windows, so you'll need Windows 98 or later.
Interpreter:
For WSH, the interpreter or engine is installed by default in Windows 2000 and later versions.
For the sake of compatibility, however, it is still recommended to download and use only the latest WSH version (5.7 for Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003, 5.6 for older Windows versions).
WSH 5.7 is native in Windows Vista, WSH 5.8 in Windows 7 and later.
Development software:
Several editors, IDEs and query and code generators are available for WSH based languages.
I also recommend downloading the script debugger: Once you get to know the language(s), you may want to explore the list of add-ons and components I compiled.
And last but not least, for debugging your VBScript code, read my debugging VBScript page.
Help files:
Download the WSH 5.6 Documentation in .CHM format, and Microsoft's VBScript Quick Reference in Word format.
More online documentation can be found on the MSDN Scripting page.
Books:
I compiled a short list of books on WSH and VBScript.
Samples:
Start by examining sample scripts and exploring other WSH and VBScript related sites.

We all had a good laugh about it, and Rachel ended up staying for a bit longer, enjoying another cookie (or two) and some quality time with my mom.

As she stood up and began to make her way to the bathroom to start her day, she heard the sound of laughter and chatter coming from downstairs. Sophia's mom, Rachel, was a social butterfly, and it wasn't uncommon for her to have friends over for impromptu gatherings. But what caught Sophia's attention was the voice that wasn't her mom's. It was her mom's best friend, Alexandra, or Alex for short. Sophia Locke - My Mom-s BFF Snuck Over For Seconds

The rest of the evening was spent with my mom and Rachel laughing and joking about the incident. My mom was a bit miffed, but ultimately, she was just happy to have shared her cooking with her friend. We all had a good laugh about it,

Sophia Locke proves once again that she is the queen of the "hushed whisper." She understands that the sexiest organ in the body is the brain, and she plays the psychological game of the "Sneaky Link" perfectly. But what caught Sophia's attention was the voice

Proximity and Familiarity: Using characters like a "family friend" establishes a baseline of trust and established history, which is a common technique used to create immediate tension or stakes in a short-form narrative.

Sophia was his mother’s Best Friend Forever. She was the kind of woman who commanded a room without trying—sharp, impeccably dressed, and possessing a sort of effortless, magnetic confidence. Ethan had known her his entire life, but it wasn't until he had come home from his first semester of college that he truly saw her. She had a timeless elegance about her, dark hair always perfectly styled, and a smile that suggested she knew a secret you didn't.
