Before ReCycle, producers were often stuck with static loops. If the tempo of your track was 130 BPM, but your favorite loop was recorded at 120 BPM, your options were severely limited. Time-stretching algorithms of the day often resulted in muddy, artifact-ridden audio. ReCycle bypassed these limitations entirely. Instead of warping the sound, it would analyze a loop and automatically "slice" it into its individual components—a kick drum here, a snare there, a hi-hat over there.
