The film originally blends English with localized Hindi phrases. A dual audio track allows viewers to switch between the international English release and the fully dubbed Hindi version, which adds an extra layer of raw, local immersion to the Mumbai setting.

While the film was primarily shot in English, a significant portion of the dialogue in the slum scenes is in Hindi, Marathi, and Tamil. The 720p dual-audio versions are highly sought after because they offer the best of both worlds:

Dev Patel (Jamal), Freida Pinto (Latika), and Madhur Mittal (Salim) delivered stellar performances. The young actors portraying the slum children also provided unmatched authenticity to the film.
