The SOP-8 package relies heavily on its ground pins and the underlying PCB copper trace geometry to shed heat. Ensure Pin 3 is connected to a wide copper pour or stitched to an inner ground plane using thermal vias to avoid triggering internal thermal shutdown mechanisms.
