Slow-burn; builds tension through suspense rather than action .
The story begins with the notorious serial killer, Peter Kürten, also known as the "Vampire of Düsseldorf." Born in 1887, Kürten was a German serial killer who terrorized the city of Düsseldorf and surrounding areas during the late 1920s. His crimes were marked by extreme brutality, and his modus operandi was characterized by a peculiar and sinister signature: he would often drink the blood of his victims.
Unlike typical crime thrillers focusing on robbery or revenge, this series centers on the sensory obsession with scent.
Despite being an indie OTT release, the cinematography captures the neon-soaked streets and luxurious interiors with impressive clarity.
