The film follows pirate hunter Captain Edward Reynolds and his first mate, Jules Steel, as they are recruited by a shady governor to stop the malevolent Chinese empress XiFeng. XiFeng intends to resurrect the feared pirate Victor Stagnetti to bring about world domination.
Looking back at the 2008 release, Pirates II represents the peak of a specific era.
