Juho (柔法) addresses situations where an opponent grabs the practitioner. These are “soft” techniques that use leverage, joint locks, and body mechanics rather than brute force. Juho includes releases ( nuki waza ), joint reversals ( gyaku waza ), throws ( nage waza ), and pins ( katame waza ). The goal is to subdue an aggressor without causing lasting injury.
