Updating the MCU is as long as you use the correct file for your specific head unit. However, flashing an MCU image meant for a different manufacturer (e.g. GS, JY, or HA) will brick your unit until you can re‑flash the correct image via a PC connection. Always verify that the file name includes “KLD6” and that you are downloading version 3.06, not an older or newer version from a different line.
