To use this feature, create a closed path (which will become the main gradient mesh) and several open paths (which will serve as mesh lines). Use the Scissors Tool to cut the closed path at specified points, select all created objects, click the Outline button in the Pathfinder panel, and then click "Make mesh from docked paths" in the Mesh Tormentor panel.
